CrossFit Eta has a lot of impressive women. This is one of their stories.
Drilling Fluid Technologies sat across the street from our old gym location. Two months after opening, Summer James came by the gym. She told us she needed to just jump in and get started. That is just what she did.
Summer came every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for about eight months, and then she began coming a fourth day each week.
Since starting (over two years ago), Summer has gone through a lot of adversity. She experienced a knee injury from snowboarding which had long-term trickle-down effects on other parts of her body.
What did Summer do when she faced adversity? She walked towards it.
Summer still came to the gym three or four days a week, scaling each workout based on her capabilities. She did so to stay committed to the process. Summer decided to continue moving forward focusing on what she could do instead of what she couldn’t do.
Because of her efforts, she developed amazing upper body strength. She used the adversity an opportunity to become better.
Now, Summer is on the mend and can do lower body workouts. She is always willing to put in great effort and is the type of person who will contribute her best to her team.
We are very thankful to have you, Summer!
