The Big Idea

What do you believe about health?

The term “health” fits into many conversations categories. Health insurance, health care, health and fitness, health and wellness, healthy _____.

Our gym typically fits under the “Health and Fitness” categories of services we use. We offer services for the benefit of health and fitness.

But why should you care?

We believe in a big idea, one that over-arches what we do. More importantly, the big idea defines why we do what we do.

Back in 2012, I started CrossFit because I saw the CrossFit Games on ESPN. I was enamored by the ability of these athletes. When I had the chanced, I googled “CrossFit” and found the Level 1 Trainer’s Manual. I consumed it over the next few days.

While I was more interested in the sport at the time, I found myself consuming considerably more information about health and wellness. I have written about the hormonal effect of food, the Health Continuum, and a few other topics recently concerning some of these first things I ever read about CrossFit.

CrossFit went back much earlier than when I read about it. 2002, in fact. And ever since then, the big idea is still the same.

So, what is the Big Idea?

The Big Idea is this:

Working out 4-6 days per week, eating real food, and doing it with a group of people has a dramatic impact on quality of life, longevity, and health experience.

Committing 4-6 hours per week to a CrossFit Class will directly impact quality of life, longevity, and health experience.

Eating real food, not too much, and mostly plants, will directly impact quality of life, longevity, and health experience.

Building this lifestyle with a group of people will directly impact quality of life, longevity, and health experience.

This big idea means a better, longer life with less doctor’s visits, sick days, chronic disease, and aging issues.

This is why we do what we do.
