Veggie, Fruit, and Nut Tray

I love the concept of the Meat, Cheese and Cracker boards that are really popular these days. Unfortunately, most of the things found on them are not that great for you. I also love the concept of a Fruit and Veggie tray. Sadly, most store-bought ones are just plain lame.

This Veggie, Fruit and Nut Tray is my fancy take on your classic (but boring), or delicious (but unhealthy) party pleasers.

Ingredients

Really it’s whatever veggies, fruit and nuts you want with a few things to dip them in, but here are the things I used for the above board:

  • 1 green Bell Pepper

  • 1 red Bell Pepper

  • 2-3 stalks of Celery

  • A handful of Dates

  • 1 cup Walnuts (filled the bowl)

  • 1/2 cup Almonds (filled the remaining space on the board)

  • 3 Clemintines (peeled)

  • 1 red Apple

  • 1 green Apple

  • 2 cups Carrots (filled the remaining space on the board)

  • Ranch Dressing (filled the bowl)

  • Almond Butter (filled the bowl) (We love Costco’s Kirkland brand)

Instructions

  1. Start by rinsing all of your veggies and fruit. Slice the bell peppers, celery, and apples into thin slices. Peel the clementines.

  2. Begin arranging your board by placing the bowls that you will be using down first.

  3. Add the fruit and veggies in sections, using the bowls to create patterns. The more curved lines, the better (i.e. The apples are surrounding the bowl in a circular pattern).

  4. Fill in the remaining places with nuts.

  5. Lastly add the contents of your bowls.

  6. Display and enjoy!
